1.
Say good-bye to your home world Say good-bye to your time Shift into a newer state A fresher state-of-mind Take a look to the future Don’t matter what you see Sail away through time and space Through infinity [Chorus:] A world is what you make Of every single breath you take Love your world with all your heart It’s no answer, but it’s a start Say hello to a new land Say good-bye to the old Say hello to the ones you loved Then place one fist in the gold Stop looking at the bad That’ll only drive you mad And start looking at the good And everything will be understood Start living in the now! [Chorus] [Guitar solo] Say good-bye to your home world Say hello to your home Say hello to the ones you love And make this place your own A world that you can take A world that you can break A world where you can thrive A world that’s so alive! [Chorus]
2.
The bells listen for cracks in the sidewalk While microphones sing in a shrill whistle back talk That says more in an instant than some do in a year The words fly away like a jay in the clear With a ravenous flutter adrift with a stutter The crickets recite the sonata of night A nocturne serene in a curtain of green Beneath silver stellar adrift in a cellar
3.
Crashing with the flutter of water on the deck The vengeance of Neptune is upon me Frantic and forlorn, I grasp with full force Rain mixing with sweat and the sea The river in sight and yet still so far My ship breaks apart in the storm Clutching at flotsam yet finding none As the riptide severs me of form And yet I remain in this mortal coil Be it by miracle, luck or design I am taken away to a strange new place Covered in seaweed and brine
4.
Pushed forward by currents siphoned through the caves below How I am surviving I simply do not know Through the inky blackness I am beaten to a pulp My incoherent suffocating plight Smashed against the rocks in the unyielding tempest’s might I cast my gaze long into the light Now the terror coming back, for Neptune is not done Into a rocky shoal I am flung I feel the sand remove my skin and welcome the touch of land And fall and fall unconscious not caring where I am.
5.
Time is drifting, for I am lost Everything is fading into the past I need to find food, if I will survive Simply amazed that I am still alive No sense of distance, been walking all day Left to wander wherever I may Walking for so long, I’m weak in my knees Sweet komorebi between the leaves In this forest, I’ve had time to reflect On everything that led to the wreck On all the things that were said and done Everything that made me run
6.
Callouses in the clouds kiss me sweetly with a snap From the dram of dried dreams of an everlasting nap Fluctuating quietly as still as summer sleep One more day of drifting through the deep Sanctuary solace softly gets me pondering As I helplessly surrender to the dreamy endless wandering Underneath the undercurrents underneath the flow Is a siphon in a cave a place that I must go Even if I could get there why would I want to go Home
7.
Orc Swarm 01:15
Orc swarm Swarm of orcs Spill the blood Red and warm Crushing skills Mace in hand Chips of bone In the sand Orc swarm Storm of orcs Orc swarm Swarming orcs Die

With a black rubber glove in my hand I reach down in to the dry desert sand I pull it up as it filters through my hand And I remember you have wings and don't care about the land And while I trudge across an Terre You are so, so high up in the air And you laugh at my grunts and my dried up purse And you mock my sweat dripping on to the dirt I beg you for water but I know you don't carry Dismissing my human curse You fly back to heaven and I die from this thirst. I die from this curse
11.
Summit 02:34
The pebbles give way beneath my feet, the summit’s too high I don’t hear them land down below, if I fall I’ll die So I take a deep breath and look ahead, and I reach for a rock Just one more step and I will be safe, I just have to not to fall Reaching out barely there, got to keep my calm Grasping at nothing but air, looking for anything to hold on One more thing to grasp, one more thing behind me Getting nowhere but slowly climbing [Interlude] It seems as though I am not getting anywhere No matter what I do, does anybody care The pinnacle is miles above, and feeling lethargy Just one more step to go to get some energy And look down from the summit
12.
All the dreams were shattered like the wine glass on the floor Never gave enough thought to the dimensions of the door But in this eternal twilight and the roses left in frost The snows upon my heart are drifting over what I lost On this endless highway, crossing mountains, crossing plains Driving through the desert, through the snow and through the rains Haven't slept in three days, haven't wiped away the tears Driving with no destination, wiping away the years So many moments burned into my memory So many moments that were planned but will not be So much for laughter but so many drowning tears So many moments that took away my years The highway says that there's a bridge out up ahead Routed onto backroads, into the countryside I'm lead Through tiny villages scattered across the corn Road kill raccoons and shambled barns herald another morn And so these moments are burned into my memory All of these confusing scenes displayed in front of me So much to think about, so many hours passed So many moments trickling into my past I haven't charged my phone in days and now the battery is dead Now way to tell if I'm wanted there, after what was said No money for a hotel but my tank is full of gas Doomed to drive until I find myself walking on greener grass So many moments burned into my memory So many moments lost that can no longer be So much for sympathy, so much for all the tears So many moments left filling up my fears
13.
I've got a gander to wander outside And gargle a gasp of fish air I've got a gander to wander outside And gargle a gasp of fish air And if you don't understand me I guess you had to be there Gonna hole myself up in the countryside Don't need no help, don't need no ride Gonna hole myself up in the countryside Don't need no help, don't need no ride Gonna find a little place to slip away Ain't comin' back, ain't no way
14.
Sometimes I feel like I've seen everything And sometimes I get really bored But there's a little thing that I like to do And I'm gettin' everyone on board So tonight, let's get along Forget about what went wrong! And tonight, dance with someone Make some memories and have some fun! I know the world can drive you crazy And sometimes life seems really slow Sometimes you’ve got to just get yourself out there Sometimes it's time to let it all go! So tonight, let's get along Forget about what went wrong! And tonight, dance with someone Make some memories and have some fun! Everybody that is all around you Might feel like you for different things You never know how someone wound up around you So let it all out and sing! So tonight, let's get along Forget about what went wrong! And tonight, dance with someone Live in the moment and have some fun! So tonight, let's get along Forget about what went wrong! And tonight, dance with someone Live in the moment and have some fun!

In the garden late at night the world had given up its fight To occupy my tired thoughts and left me to untie the knots I had a chance to reminisce about the things I had dismissed How I wound up where I am, and that’s where my thoughts began Weaving strands of tales together like some sort of ball of twine Makes for something altogether not unlike a grand design When everything is wrapped up and all the tales are spun Then we are only left with lonely midnight on the sun Everybody walks a path built by their experience That intersects with other paths built from their experience All these intersecting paths changing all the others’ routes Make today a starting point for all the future people’s roots Weaving strands of tales together like some sort of ball of twine Makes for something altogether not unlike a grand design When everything is wrapped up and all the tales are spun Then we are only left with lonely midnight on the sun Everyone is all connected by everything we do Ask yourself about the small things that only happen to you All the little nuisances and all the little nitpick things Converge on other paths around like resonating springs Weaving strands of tales together like some sort of ball of twine Makes for something altogether not unlike a grand design When everything is wrapped up and all the tales are spun Then we are only left with lonely midnight on the sun Remember when you walk alone your path was made by everyone Who walks a path that you helped build and the job is never done When your path intersects with who you know or someone new Your path will change its course from the one that you knew Weaving strands of tales together like some sort of ball of twine Makes for something altogether not unlike a grand design When everything is wrapped up and all the tales are spun Then we are only left with lonely midnight on the sun

about

This is the second volume of a 35-song, 129minute monolithic double album. Volume one focuses on metal, while volume two is focused on art rock and electronica.

Volume two is much more lighthearted than volume one. While it isn't exactly chipper (particularly in the middle), this set tends more towards art rock and electronica, and overall has a positive energy to it.

After releasing Entropy and Discord, I experienced a long period of musical writer's block. During this time I focused instead on writing tabletop roleplaying game supplements, particularly the Terralundis campaign setting and the Benetolia Gazetteer. Things took a sudden turn after I met Lord Veil, and we formed a band called the Vicious Innocents. We produced a few songs together, but an unfortunate bout of covid turned my life upside down just when things were starting to gain momentum.

In the months after leaving the band, I found myself in quite the burst of writing. I pieced together some seventy-odd fragments and riffs into cohesive songs, reworked some downright ancient songs I wrote in the 1990s but set aside, and wound up with three dozen songs.

This album and its companion volume were completely recorded, edited, mixed, and mastered in my home studio using only an audio interface, a single microphone, my guitars, my basses, my electronic drum kit, my MIDI controller keyboard, free DAWs, and free VST plugins. The art was generated using AI and heavily modified using free image editing software. The booklet layouts were done in LaTeX and GhostScript. All on the same computer.
