Hot winds whip the road across this tired terrain Fog on the windshield from the humid summer rain Three days, three thousand miles Three thousand more of pain Three years or maybe more I will come here again [Prechorus] 'Til then I'm living like I'll never live again You never know what's on the road ahead [Chorus] These are the moments that we have to spare These tender moments that we have to care Moment to moment the things we must bear I live for the moment to prove I was there The landscape changes, it's all so vast The road changes, and all too fast Three weeks, three thousand dreams Three decades fall away Three more like days before We watch it slip away [Repeat pre chorus] [Chorus] [Interlude] These precious moments that we cannot spare These precious moments that we have to care These precious moments we squander away These precious moments that make up our day These precious moments that we cannot waste These precious moments that we use in haste These precious moments that we cannot waste These precious moments are too precious to taste

Terraform 03:42
Stirring from a slumber in the throat of the monster Deprived of my majesty's decrepit malaise Like a fluid melody departing from time To time under the spell of a sorceress blade Ripping apart in a cadmium cascade Terraform Transpose Transport Transcend To the next plane unraveling its titanium braids Lifted by steam powered clockwork vulture wings Chasms become cracks and seas become puddles And the mutations kick in and it all becomes muddled Transport Transcend Translate Transpose Stirring from a slumber in the throat of the monster Deprived of my majesty's decrepit malaise Like a fluid melody departing from time Ripping apart in a cadmium cascade Transport Transcend Translate Transpose

From waves of Covid, To waves of soldiers Missiles incoming, Burning sunflowers Shocking the world with inhumanity Radiation clouds, from idiocy Raging fury, seeing blurry Defenders turning them all to slurry Cutting down their greater numbers No one can reign in the dogs of war Without dissent there is only the silent Now the grizzly has felt the nightingale's trident History's a spiral that never stops rhyming It's only a question of choices and timing Blasts of phosphorus chemical munitions Laying landmines, dropping cluster bombs Kidnapping children and killing civilians The rape of Mariupol
4.
Floating through an endless sea Fifteen billion light years wide Unknown worlds left just for me In this I will confide [Chorus:] I’m searching for my home I’m searching for some hope I’m searching for my soul I’m slowly losing all control Hurling through this void of black Through this rift I gaze Yearning for a taste of Earth The Earth obscured in haze [Chorus] [Solo] [Band in] Now I look upon a plain a thousand miles wide An ancient world sterile yet green that moves me deep inside [Chorus] A spirit lost in time and space, loneliness persists Searching through infinity for worlds that don’t exist [Chorus 2x]
5.
Whispers carry through the still of night Words of carrion washed ashore in the tempest’s might Flocking like a crowd of angry doves Racing across electric skies above [Pre-chorus:] A rose forlorn, a labyrinthine vine Triad of tumultuous fire and vine Benighted in shadows by fluorescent light Etiolated yet blindingly bright [Chorus:] To silhouette a rose in blackest night Transcending darkness beyond In the whispers devoid of light Are words that do not respond Three if by sea, and two if by flight Halcyon dreams occlude the fading night Vista of verbal void, a poignant clarity Precipitates the abstract polarity [Pre-chorus] [Chorus] [Solos] Demure darkness, in silhouette To genuflect before coquette A revenant in reprised repose The vine tangles around the rose [Pre-chorus] [Chorus]
6.
You are a walking contradiction, Hyperbolic premonition Hypocritical admission, Screaming from the skies Fad plasma like a phantasm, With the speed of a cracked spasm You see I'm on a mission, Gonna open up your eyes [Pre-chorus:] Can't you see it now, Why can't you see it now, Why can't you see it now, Why can't you see? [Chorus:] It's right in front of YOUR FACE RIGHT NOW! But your head is in YOUR ASS SOMEHOW! Nothing I can say WILL MAKE YOU HEAR! What I have to say IT'S LOUD AND CLEAR! But you don't care WHAT THE TRUTH IS! Just as long as it’s GOOD FOR BUSINESS! Talking out your ass AND THEY LOVE IT! Now I'm telling you TO GO SHOVE IT! Mind-induced catalepsy, Catalyzed tranquility Forever burning in your mind, tantalizing you will find Nevermore to procreate. A golden tongue to elevate A slave to time with nothing more, Searching out forbidden lore [Pre-chorus] [Chorus] [Instrumental break] [BREAKDOWN] You think that you are on a mission Soldier of divine revision But all of you have tunnel vision They've cluster fucked your minds! Got you chanting like a fascist Bigot racist, ageist, classist Where you go one you go all To go and build a Berlin Wall [Pre-chorus] [Chorus]
7.
(Instrumental)
8.
I’m the fears inside your head I make you wish that you were dead I am the prodigy of your demise [Chorus:] Life, in catatonic sleep The secrets that they keep In that abyssal deep Time, the final bleeding whore A fatal yellow sore Of misery and more I’m your death become reality Embody your insanity I am a mind obsessed with all your hate A child of divinity I am your mortal enemy I am the one you fear will separate [Chorus] I am the darkness given birth I am the end of time on earth I am the spawn of fire from the skies [Chorus]
9.
This paradox of madness obscene This paradox of sickness unseen A vision of microcosmic vanity Corrosion of the inborn inanity Closer to the source of all creation Inadvertent morbid fascination Darkening the mute gray at the base Of median of all of time and space

I'm tired of this I keep seeing ghosts in the road It seems so real More than one person can manifest I'm tired of these ghosts in the road in the middle of nights Crossing in front of me ahead of the lights Figments of shadows, a trick of my mind Or long lost souls hoping to find THESE GHOSTS (Fast part) Haunted highways on a midnight slog Familiar places drifting through the fog Drifting in and out of sleepy daze I see a shadow in the haze (Guitar solo) (Back to slow) I'm tired of these ghosts in the road that trick my eyes Here comes another one, but now I'm getting wise Just another shadow up ahead, I won't be fooled this time But it isn't, and the two of us have now become THE GHOSTS

Deja vu is more like a rhyme, than a true repetition of time A resonating causal clone, a feeling that I'm not alone Covered shrine of Cattleya, drifting dreams of drab draughts Sorrow swelling swiftly swallows, sweltering fell crafts Dissonant devices darken harrowed hollow dreams Rested laurels borrowed from sadistic carnal screams [Chorus:] Defects in the world crystal shatter constantly Defects in the world crystal devour eternity Infinite reflections in deluded vanity When there’s nothing left but shards there will be tranquility Drinking from a gray glass fountain, balancing on a brass mountain Cavaliers of coronations, power pyrrhic proclamations A staunch supply of parasites, poetic demise Eons collide, a flood of blood, delusions are made wise Superficial sacrifices to placate barren minds Strategic folklore leads the way to sardonic shrines [Chorus] [Guitar solo] Inhuman machinery glancing fro and to In a unison cacophony dragged into the slew Surfaces of revolution put the world in shock Malevolence invariance counting down the clock Reading lines by scar light of terminal poetry, It begins as it ends, imperfect symmetry [Chorus] Defects in the world crystal shatter reality Skeletal ponderance of temporal mortality Defects in the world crystal

Ravenback 05:13
Fly or face the inevitable day The ashes of a life wasted away A forest of mortar, iron, and steel Life in the slow lane asleep at the wheel [Pre-chorus:] Woa... I will fly away Woa... To gather the day Woa... To not just survive Woa... For I am alive! [chorus:] I will fly on the back of a raven Free to go where I may Flying fast with the power to stave in The evils that get in my way I will fly to spread the resistance To help and free those in need I will fly to the ends of existence On a raven's back I will speed [quick solo] Times apace with the flock on the wall A flower for valar, will you heed the call? This is your life, you'll make it somehow Come and join the flight, your time is now [Pre-chorus] Woa... We will fly away Woa... Together someday Woa... To not just survive Woa... For we are alive! [Chorus 2:] We will fly on the backs of ravens Free to go where we may Flying fast with the power to stave in The evils that get in our way We will fly to spread the resistance To help and free those in need We will fly to the ends of existence On ravens' backs we will speed [interlude into shred fest solos] [Chorus 2]

Denouement 03:44
I remember being there, Everybody together. Gathered for revelry, And we had big plans On the cusp of something great Something truly legendary And then it all came to a halt It was only temporary Another dream, another time, another place, another when What could we’ve done, what could we be, what could we’ve said, what could have been Were we all there, in that same place, in that same time, when we were great Were we insane, was it a dream, who now can say, it’s getting late And so life had its sway Reality hits hard, they say And it all fell through the ground And we went our separate ways And so then your life goes on And makes you wonder what went wrong Try to make some sense of it Leaves you there throwing a fit None of this makes any sense, who have I to blame Everything is different now and nothing is the same Looking for some comfort where there is only pain Wallowing in self-pity can never lead to gain Another dream, another time, another place, another when What could we’ve done, what could we be, what could we’ve said, what could have been Were we all there, in that same place, in that strange time, when we were great Were we the same, was it a dream, who now can say, it’s getting late

Far away I long to be, This world it calls to me. Through the rift of tranquil green, To places yet unseen. Voyager across the sea, To this ancient land. I gaze across this verdant place, Beyond the foam and sand.

about

This is the first volume of a 35-song, 129-minute monolithic double album. Volume one focuses on metal, while volume two is focused on art rock and electronica.

After releasing Entropy and Discord, I experienced a long period of musical writer's block. During this time I focused instead on writing tabletop roleplaying game supplements, particularly the Terralundis campaign setting and the Benetolia Gazetteer. Things took a sudden turn after I met Lord Veil, and we formed a band called the Vicious Innocents. We produced a few songs together, but an unfortunate bout of covid turned my life upside down just when things were starting to gain momentum.

In the months after leaving the band, I found myself in quite the burst of writing. I pieced together some seventy-odd fragments and riffs into cohesive songs, reworked some downright ancient songs I wrote in the 1990s but set aside back then, and wound up with three dozen songs.

This album and its companion volume were completely recorded, edited, mixed, and mastered in my home studio using only an audio interface, a single microphone, my guitars, my basses, my electronic drum kit, my MIDI controller keyboard, free DAWs, and free VST plugins. The art was generated using AI and heavily modified using free image editing software. The booklet layouts were done in LaTeX and GhostScript. All on the same keyboard.
